Rainey Pain & Performance - No Surprises Act

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from my first visit?
Every patient's pain is unique and individual, and we want to understand your health journey. First-time visits are around 45 minutes. We address the whole body, not just the part that hurts because we want to get to the root of your pain, not just manage symptoms.

Your first visit will consist of a detailed physical evaluation and possible treatment, depending on your doctor's recommendation. We will perform a thorough physical examination to test and analyze reflexes, muscles, joints, and movement. Together we will develop a treatment plan designed to address the problems responsible for your pain so you can return to your active life as soon as possible.
What do I wear to my appointments?
To be the most comfortable during your appointment, please wear clothing that does not restrict movement. Your treatment sessions may include stretches and moderate exercise.
How long are treatment appointments?
Treatment appointments are based on individual needs but usually range between 30 and 45 minutes.
How long will I have to go to physical therapy sessions?
Our patients usually begin to notice a significant change within 3 to 5 treatment sessions and become stronger and more resilient within 8 to 10 treatment sessions. To maintain strength and increase therapeutic gains, we encourage home exercises which will be demonstrated and practiced during treatment sessions.
What types of therapy do you offer?
We offer various types of therapy that combine research with expertise to lead to optimal results. Your doctor will discuss the best options for you. Some of our treatment methods include dry needling, joint manipulation, manually-assisted exercise, non-thrust manipulation, pelvic floor physical therapy, performance and fitness training, self-performed exercises, soft-tissue mobilization, thrust manipulation, and virtual reality.
Will physical therapy hurt?
During your treatment sessions, our therapists will stretch your muscles. This may cause a little discomfort as you increase flexibility and strength in your body. You may experience some soreness and tired muscles, just as you would after a workout. Working with a physical therapist will push you, but it shouldn't be too much. Physical therapy is safe, and your doctor has a plan in mind based on your particular needs. We believe in a patient-provider alliance where we listen to because you know your body best.
What resources do you offer after physical therapy?
You've worked hard during your treatment sessions and deserve to maintain, so we offer a variety of opportunities to support your progress.
  • Tailored personal training
  • Arthritis and movement classes
  • Mental Health Modalities

Testimonials

"Going to Rainey Pain and Performance has been a wonderful blessing. When I saw Dr. Rainey, he evaluated my condition. He researched and also used knowledge that worked on my specific problem. With a workable plan, he recommended a strategy to target where my body needed the help. In the clinic, they have a positive and professional way of teaching the techniques. The more I follow the recommendations the less my body hurts. The right techniques have made it possible for my body to start healing."
~ Sue S.

"My family and I are have been seen here for a variety of issues, including jaw pain and ankle issues. We have always been helped by a friendly and professional staff, and our pains have all been healed. Very timely and caring team. Would see them again." ~ C.S.

“I have been suffering with pain in my jaw, TMJ and neck for 29 years ( old car accident) and was told I had to live with it.  I have been misdiagnosed several times with these issues. I came to Doctor Rainey for a knee issue. And he informed me he treated the TMJ as well.  After four visits he was able to relieve almost all my pain.  TMJ/Neck/ and knee (turned out to be a back issue). But I think the most powerful thing he did was give  me the tools to treat myself after my last visit. I have enjoyed several weeks of almost pain free living.. I still have work to do but I feel I can handle it from here.  And if I can’t, Doctor Rainey is just an appointment away….  I highly recommend Doctor Rainey and his staff.”
~ Joe M.
