Arthritis, more specifically osteoarthritis, means that bones are getting closer to each other. There may be bone spurs, changes in the cartilage, and the end of the bone, which is commonly called degenerative joint disease. Arthritis is often looked down upon because it is not a disease, but a normal aging process like skin wrinkles and graying hair. People with pain often have arthritis, but there are also many people with arthritis that do not feel the pain. Working with our physical therapists and functional pain managers can help those with arthritis and pain become more like those with arthritis and no pain.
